Assorted information and links on renewable energy.
A resource for bioenergy, bioconversion, and bioprocess technologies; this site is an archival resource of materials related to the UW's research into biomass liquid fuels production. Also contains a listing of various companies and researchers around the country participating in either active biomass projects or research.
Home page of
A non-profit agency focusing on advocacy and education on the benefits of biomass energy use, research and production. It contains legislative alerts, policy statement, and related links.
This clearinghouse provides high-quality biomass resource data for the United States. However, data development is just beginning. Presently, there is no national data base of consistent biomass data for public use. However, this site provides central access to biomass information available through the Internet to make data searches easier and inexpensive. Their goal is to provide access to all biomass data and information available to the public. (Run by the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Energy, and Commerce; the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, the Regional Biomass Energy Program, the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the U.S. Census Bureau.)
A from-the-ground-up campaign to promote biomass energy. Contains excellent fact sheets on the benefits of biomass and information on various organization's lobbying efforts. "Bringing people together to promote renewable energy from biomass, wind, solar, and geothermal."
The home page lists current programs and activities, including state and regional projects. The GLRBEP currently has over two dozen projects in-progress on topics such as cofiring biomass for power production, alternative fuel vehicle demonstration, technology development for reducing the costs of ethanol production, biomass resource assessments, and methane production from anaerobic digestion of biomass wastes.
Highlights of this site include: the NREL publications database, the New Energy Information Locator (NEIL), Solar radiation data and maps, wind energy resource maps, facilities guide to DOE labs, recent press releases and research in progress.
Organization focused on new industrial uses of agricultural materials
Contains a listing of current University of North Dakota biomass projects.
The Internet information service of the Center for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology.
